Double Translate AI · Version 1.0
Effective Date: May 25, 2026
Welcome to Double Translate AI (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use our mobile application available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store, and our website https://aquareonlabs.com.
The Data Controller is AquareonLabs, residing in Ukraine. If you have any questions, you can contact us at support@doubletranslateai.com.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom (UK), or Switzerland, this policy provides you with the transparent disclosures required under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and equivalent local laws.
1. Legal Bases for Processing (For EEA/UK Users)
We process your personal data under the following legal bases pursuant to Article 6 of the GDPR:
Contractual Necessity (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR): To provide the translation services, process subscriptions, and maintain core App functionalities.
Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR): For targeted advertising (IDFA/GAID tracking) and receiving push notifications. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Legitimate Interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR): To analyze App performance, debug crashes, monitor error logs, and optimize user experience, provided these interests are not overridden by your fundamental rights.
2. Information We Collect and How We Use It
A. Translation and Voice Inputs (Core Functionality)
Text Inputs: When you input text for translation or use the "Double Translate" feature, the text is processed in real-time. We route this text via our backend server hosted by Render to third-party AI engines (Google Gemini API and OpenAI API GPT-5 nano). Important: Please do not input highly sensitive, confidential, or personally identifiable information into the translator.
Voice Data (Speech-to-Text / Text-to-Speech): If you use the voice translation feature, your audio data is streamed to Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services for real-time translation processing. Voice data is processed on-the-fly and is not permanently stored by us. Temporary audio caching for TTS is handled securely using Upstash Redis and deleted immediately after use.
On-Device Processing: Where technically feasible (such as text recognition from images / OCR), the App utilizes native on-device APIs via Apple Vision Framework (iOS) and Google ML Kit (Android) to minimize the transfer of your image data to external servers.
B. Account and Technical Storage
Anonymous User ID & History: The App does not require a traditional account login. We generate an anonymous user ID. Your translation history and translation ratings are stored securely in our database managed by Supabase. This history is retained so you can access your past translations across sessions.
Push Notification Tokens: To send you updates or system notifications, we collect your device's push tokens via Apple APNs (iOS) and Google FCM (Android).
C. Analytics and Error Tracking
Product Analytics: We use PostHog EU Cloud to analyze how users interact with the App. This data is strictly anonymized and hosted within the European Union.
Crash Reporting: We use Sentry and optionally Google Firebase Crashlytics to monitor application stability and track software bugs. This data contains technical device logs and does not contain your name or translation text.
D. Advertising and Identifiers
Ad Identifiers (IDFA / GAID): With your explicit prior consent, we collect advertising identifiers (Apple's IDFA or Google's Advertising ID) to serve personalized ads via Google AdMob.
*iOS Users:* You will be prompted with the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) dialog.
*Android/EEA Users:* Consent is managed through the Google UMP SDK in compliance with the IAB TCF framework.
E. Payment and Subscription Data
All premium subscriptions and in-app purchases are executed securely and directly through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. We do not see, collect, or store your credit card details or bank information. Subscription states, purchase tokens, and validation are managed through our partner SDK, RevenueCat.
3. Third-Party Data Processors (Sub-processors)

Data at Rest: Data stored in Supabase is protected via robust database encryption mechanisms.
Retention: We retain your anonymous translation history for as long as the App remains installed on your device or until you request its deletion. Push tokens are automatically rotated or removed when invalidated by the OS.
5. Your GDPR and Privacy Rights
If you are a resident of the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, you possess the following rights regarding your data:
1.
Right to Access and Export: You can request a copy of your anonymous translation history.
2.
Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You have the right to request that we delete all data linked to your anonymous user ID.
3.
Right to Withdraw Consent: You can revoke your consent for ad tracking at any time via your iOS or Android system privacy settings, or reset your preferences within the App's consent banner.
4.
Right to Object: You can object to our processing based on legitimate interests.
To exercise your rights, please follow the steps outlined in our Data Deletion Policy at https://aquareonlabs.com/legal/data-deletion-policy or contact us directly at support@doubletranslateai.com. We will respond to your request within 30 days.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. In certain EU member states, local regulations restrict app usage to individuals aged 17 or older without parental consent. Double Translate AI enforces a minimum age policy of 13 years (and up to 17 years where mandated by local EU laws). We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we discover a child under these age thresholds has provided us with data, we will purge it immediately.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the App settings and updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this document.
